Michael J. Fox = Class, Rush Limbaugh = Ass
MS is a chronic, unpredictable neurological disease that affects the central nervous system. Parkinson's disease is a chronic, progressive disorder of the central nervous system that belongs to a group of conditions called motor system disorders. Parkinson's is the direct result of the loss of cells in a section of the brain called the substantia nigra. Those cells produce dopamine, a chemical messenger responsible for transmitting signals within the brain. Loss of dopamine causes critical nerve cells in the brain, or neurons, to fire out of control, leaving patients unable to direct or control their movement in a normal manner.
It is vital to anyone with a with a neurological disease that stem cell research continues. It could lead to cures and treatments.
Mr. Fox did an ad for Claire McCaskil running for Senate in Missouri:
Rush Limbaugh decided Mr. Fox was "faking" or "acting" in this ad.
From Limbaugh's site: Michael J. Fox is allowing his illness to be exploited and in the process is shilling for a Democrat politician. In the process of doing that, creating an impression like John Edwards tried to do that is not reality. Michael J. Fox is using his illness as a way to mislead voters into thinking that their vote for a single United States Senator has a direct impact on stem cell research in Missouri.
Oy. This coming from the expert on drugs.
Enjoy this Crook and Liars tidbit. In which Keith Olbermann gives us the delightful visual of the attack on Michael J. Fox.

Should we do impressions of drug induced conservatives? So much for "compassionate" conservatism. As you know, Rush and other radio guys met with at the White House recently to get the "official" party line. See my blog for more on this.
The other other side, is that Mr. Fox had also made an ad for Arlen Specter, who is Republican, because he supported Stem Cell Research. It really has nothing to do with parties, but with trying to get support! Limbaugh didn't mention that. And it's not only a matter of money, its the legality of the research. Does it matter if you have the money for research when your lab could be stormed into by the goverment?
